Has Fingo asked for access to your website code, CRM and digital platforms?

We understand how daunting this can be, however gaining insight into the back end of your systems is crucial so that we can scope effectively and do all the great things you would like us to do. By understanding code, digital effectiveness and looking at website performance, we can design a solution that will help optimise your company's digital performance. The more access you can give your marketing agency, the better the service and results you will get in return. And the quicker the access is given, the faster the magic can happen!

We will ask you for access to:

  • Google Tag Manager
  • Google Analytics Account
  • Google Search Console
  • Website code and CRM
  • Google Ads Account
  • Social Media Ad Accounts
  • Merchant Store

Below is a quick guide that tells you what the platforms are, why we need access and how to let us in.

Google Tag Manager (the biddable one)

Giving your marketing agency access to Google Tag Manager is crucial for the success of your marketing campaigns. With access to Google Tag Manager, your agency can set up tags and triggers to track important on-page actions, making sure that the ads are working and information is being sent to the appropriate marketing channels such as your merchant store, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and more. By accurately tracking these actions, your marketing agency can make data-driven decisions to optimise your campaigns and help your business reach its goals.

To add users to your Tag Manager account:

  1. Sign in to your Google Tag Manager account.
  2. Click on the Admin tab.
  3. Under Account, select User Management.
  4. To add a new user, click New.
  5. Enter the user’s email address and nominate Account Permissions (User or Admin) and which containers you would like the user to have access to (optional).
  6. Click Add.

Google Search Console (the SEO one)

Giving your marketing agency access to your Google Search Console (GSC) account is crucial for optimising your website's organic performance. With access to GSC, your agency can view your website the same way that Google does, allowing them to measure search traffic, explore the queries driving traffic, and optimise content based on impressions, clicks, and position on Google. Not only can your agency improve your website's search engine rankings, but they can also manage issues such as indexing errors and broken links. Additionally, your agency can submit sitemaps and URLs for crawling and indexing, ensuring that your website is appearing in search results accurately and effectively.

It is recommended that you grant your marketing agency full user access to your GSC account, as this will enable them to analyse your website's performance comprehensively and take the necessary steps to optimise your organic visibility. By working closely with your agency and giving them access to the tools they need, you can achieve better results for your business in the long run.

To add your marketing agency to your Google Search Console simply:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Select your business property
  3. Click ‘Settings’
  4. Click to the ‘Users and permissions section’
  5. Click ‘Add User’
  6. Enter your agencies contact information
  7. Confirm access

Website CMS and code (the technical one)

CMS platforms such as WordPress help marketers create and publish content onto a website quickly, meaning they are able to alter and update content based on analytics after a campaign. A CMS also makes it easier for agencies to track analytics and measure performance helping them to understand what specific content is working and what needs to be improved.  Agencies need access to your cPannel to place files such as Google verification files on your server. These files manage your website in Google Search Console. Agencies also require access to edit parts of the website that aren’t accessible through your CMS.

To give your marketing agency access to cPannel:

  1. Log in to cPanel account.
  2. Scroll to the Preferences section and click on User Manager.
  3. Once User Manager opens, click the Add User button to begin creating a new user account.
  4. Create the new user account by filling in the form provided.
  5. Specify the services the user can access.

Google Analytics Account (the everything one)

Access to Google Analytics is essential for marketing agencies to effectively measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns and website performance. By having access to your Google Analytics account, your agency can create goals that track important actions and conversions on your website, giving you valuable insights into the success of your campaigns.

Additionally, marketing agencies often create different views and filters within Google Analytics. This allows them to analyse data without any distortions caused by internal traffic or any other factors that may skew the data. With these views and filters in place, your agency can accurately assess the performance of your campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimise your marketing strategies. Having this access not only provides valuable insights for your agency but also empowers them to work closely with you in achieving your marketing goals.

There are a few ways for us to gain access to your Google Analytics account but if we ask you to add us as a user here are the steps:

  1. Sign in to your Google Analytics account.
  2. Click Admin, and navigate to the desired Account/Property/View.
  3. In the Account, Property, or View column (depending upon whether you want to add users at the Account, Property, or View level), click User Management.
  4. In the Account permissions page, click +, then click Add users.
  5. Enter the email address for the user’s Google account.
  6. Tick ‘Notify new users by email’ to send a notification to the user.
  7. Choose the Permissions you want.
  8. Click Add.

Don’t Worry!

We completely understand that granting access to your sensitive accounts can be nerve-wracking, but we want to assure you that no reputable agency would do anything malicious to your accounts or try to take control away from you. Our job is to help you achieve your business goals, and we can only do that with your trust and cooperation. Communication is the key to a successful partnership with your marketing agency. Keeping an open line of communication with your agency and clearly communicating your expectations and concerns can lead to better alignment between the two parties and ultimately lead to better results.

If you don't have an account on any of these platforms, don't worry! We can create one for you and give you full access to the new account, so you can see what's happening.
