Q&A Highlights

We had some excellent questions during the webinar. Here are a few that stood out:

Question From Sarah: “What are the best strategies for optimising our website to showcase large-scale projects and property listings effectively?”

Answer: Incorporating high-quality image galleries and video tours is crucial—something we saw emerge much more during COVID. Ensure the design is responsive so these elements display well across all devices. Image optimisation is critical here to ensure fast page loading. Floorplans can be difficult to get working on mobiles, so they need careful consideration. Another approach is integrating interactive elements like customisable floor plans or 3D models to engage website users.

Question From Matt: “With AI being more apparent today, do we see the digital landscape changing once again? And if so, how do you see us adapting our websites to this?”

Answer: We are already seeing changes, especially with search engines. Google uses AI in interesting ways, including AI bots to trawl and crawl emails to ensure compliance with their rules. One notable aspect is that Google doesn't favour AI-generated content. We have written several blogs on this topic and can guide you further. While AI can be great as a framework and guide, be cautious about its use in creating content. AI is likely to elevate expectations around UX, particularly in how brands answer customer queries and respond effectively. This will be transformative, affecting not only content creation but also internal organisation to respond better to user needs.

Question From Jim: “Can you suggest ways to integrate advanced e-commerce functionalities without compromising our website's load speed and overall performance?”

Answer: Focus on streamlining backend processes and using web technologies such as AJAX to load product details seamlessly. Implement lazy loading for images and prioritise above-the-fold content. Using a content delivery network (CDN) can also improve load times globally. Additionally, all previously discussed optimisation techniques are relevant here.
